In Australia alone, an estimated 30 million toothbrushes are used and disposed of a year, this amounts to about 1000 tonnes of landfill a year.
The plastic they are made from will not break down in our lifetime nor our children's lifetime. Now imagine that on a global scale.
Our Toothbrushes are:
Available in 3 colours and 2 styles
Toothbrushes have soft bristles as recommended by dentists.
Sustainable and panda friendly
The bamboo we use is sustainably harvested. Bamboo can grown over a 3 feet a day in the right conditions without any pesticides! This makes bamboo harvestable in 3-4 years and a choice material. Our brushes are made from Moso bamboo a variety that is not eaten by pandas and grown outside of panda habitat.
They are packaged in a recyclable paper box made of recycled paper.
Bamboo is naturally antimicrobial, this is why bamboo is preferred for cutting boards. Our toothbrushes are also coated in a light food grade and toxin free wax. This assists in keeping mould off and creates a smooth finish.
Care of your toothbrush
Keep your toothbrush in a dry place. As with other toothbrushes do not stop in a closed container on a regular basis. Dispose of all toothbrushes every 3 moths as recommended by the Australian Dental Association.
The handle can be composted or put into FOGO. Check with your local council if they accept bristles. Otherwise remove bristles with pliers and dispose of in rubbish.
